Brother and Sister Vs Mom: The Hunger Games Midnight Showing
A little background information: My brother Andrew is 15 and sister Angela is 17. All of us have read the entire trilogy of The Hunger Games, and cannot wait until the movie comes out. I plan on watching the midnight showing, and I’m allowed to go because, well, I’m an adult. Since they are not, they need permission.
Here was the conversation:
Mom: You guys cannot go to the midnight showing, you both have school the next day and you won’t wake up in time.
Brother and sister: But we will wake up, we promise! We always wake up, ALWAYS.
Mom: No you won’t.
Brother: It’s going to be a snow day on the 23rd anyways! We won’t even have school.
Mom: Are you a meteorologist all of a sudden?
Brother: Either I watch the midnight showing and go to school the next day, or not watch it and end up sick.
Sister: Either I watch the midnight showing and go to school the next day, or I drop out of school and be homeless.
Brother: Either I watch the midnight showing, or I find your weed stash in the closet and -
Sister: AND TURN YOU IN!
Brother: Well I was gonna say use it but yea that works too.
Mom: ….you guys are stupid.
Turns out, my Mom finally agreed to let them go with me to the midnight showing…but then she said, “Now you just have to ask your Dad.”
Dad yells from upstairs: “NO YOU CAN’T GO.”
Good try, siblings. Good try.
