I would definitely pick the latter.

Although it would be hard to not see or hear from her all year, to witness firsthand her love written in the creases forming on her forehead as her eyes swell up would make me realize that it was all worth it. 

To speak to her everyday would be wonderful, but no matter how close we could be in a conversation, there will always be an infinite amount of distance between us and I don’t think I could handle that.
